About Me…
I have been writing and evaluating business proposals, large and small, for over thirty years. During that time, I trained with some of the largest bid writing training companies in the world. Now, I am putting everything I have learnt into an accessible form to help small to medium businesses improve their proposals without needing to go to expensive bid writing, proposal development or design companies.
Here are some examples of my experience:
- At New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), I developed New Zealand’s first program to support companies to increase their win rate for formal RFPs and tenders. After the successful launch in New Zealand, we took the programme to Sydney, Washington and London to help New Zealand businesses win international tenders and contracts.
- I co-produced guides to winning government tenders for key markets worldwide, including Australia, the US, the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I was the manager of the Industry Capability Network (ICN) for New Zealand.
- I sat on the New Zealand Government Procurement Advisory Group
- I wrote the first iteration of the New Zealand government procurement website section for suppliers
( https://www.procurement.govt.nz/suppliers/). - I have a certificate in procurement from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. This gave me a deep understanding of what procurement managers and buyers are looking for, how the formal tendering process works, and the challenges that buyers face.
Today, I am a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, the global organisation for professional bid writers.
When I am not helping businesses succeed, I am carefully researching and monitoring trends and technologies for business proposal development and creating new material to help businesses create better business proposals for less.
